What are Remote Desktop Services?
Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is a functionality that allows remote access to graphical desktops and Windows applications. Desktop networks can be centrally managed with the appropriate Client Access Licenses (CALs), giving IT departments more time to upgrade to the latest server operating system. The “Quick Updates” feature also saves time during future updates.
Every user or device that accesses a licensed Windows Server requires a Windows Server CAL or a Windows Server CAL and Remote Desktop Services (RDS), which enables a user to establish a Remote Desktop session on a Remote Desktop Session Host server regardless of the number of devices they use to log in.
